Homemade Biscuits

Gather Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp cold butter, cubed
  • 6 tbsp melted butter (for tops)
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • Hoop cheese, cubed

Mix Ingredients

  • Combine flour and salt
  • Cut in cold butter until crumbly
  • Slowly add buttermilk
  • Mix until just combined

Shape Biscuits

  • Knead dough 1-2 minutes
  • Roll into balls
  • Optional: add cheese cubes
  • Brush with melted butter

Bake to Perfection

  • Preheat oven to 450°F
  • Place on greased pan
  • Bake 15-25 minutes
  • Until golden brown

Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

Prep: 20 min | 🍳 Cook: 20-25 min | 🔥 Oven: 425°F

Dough

  • 2½ cups flour
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1¼ cup buttermilk
  • 6 tbsp melted butter (plus 2-4 tbsp for brushing)

Cinnamon Filling

  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

Icing

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp water (can use milk or orange juice)

Preheat & Prepare

  • Preheat to 425°F
  • Grease baking pan
  • Mix filling ingredients

Make Dough

  • Combine flour, sugar, buttermilk, butter
  • Knead 1-2 minutes
  • Roll into rectangle

Assemble

  • Brush with butter
  • Add cinnamon-sugar mix
  • Roll and slice

Bake & Ice

  • Bake 20-25 minutes
  • Mix icing ingredients
  • Spread on warm rolls

💡 Tip: Double the icing recipe, and sometimes the filling depending on roll size.

Corn Bread

Prep: 10 min | 🍳 Cook: 25-30 min | 🔥 Oven: 350°F

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 stick of softened butter
  • 1 can drained corn
  • 1 can cream-style corn
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 1 box Jiffy cornbread mix

Instructions

Mix Base

In a mixing bowl, combine the egg and softened butter until well blended

Add Corn

Stir in both the drained corn and cream-style corn, then fold in the sour cream

Complete Batter

Add Jiffy cornbread mix and stir until thoroughly combined

Bake

Pour into greased pan and bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown

Tea Cakes

Key Ingredients

  • 1¼ cups sugar
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 3-5 cups flour (enough to create a workable dough)

Mix the Base

Cream together sugar, eggs, butter, and vanilla until smooth and well combined

Form the Dough

Gradually add flour and mix with hands until firm enough to roll out without sticking

Shape and Cut

Roll out on floured surface and cut into shapes with cookie cutters

Bake Until Golden

Bake at 375°F until edges are lightly golden (about 8-10 minutes)

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups milk (warm)

Additional Ingredients

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 6-8 biscuits (≈ 1 lb bread)

Prepare Biscuits

Crumble the biscuits into a mixing bowl

Add Liquids

Pour warm milk and hot water over crumbled biscuits

Mix Remaining

Stir in sugar, eggs, and oil until well combined

Bake

Pour into 9x11 pan, bake at 350°F for 30 minutes

Chewy Bread

Gather Ingredients

  • 1 box light brown sugar
  • 1½ cups self-rising flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 3 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Mix the Batter

Combine brown sugar, pecans, and flour in a large bowl. Add beaten eggs and vanilla, mixing until well blended.

Bake Until Golden

Pour into greased pan and bake at 325°F until edges are golden and center is set (20-30 minutes).
